Please see below: Newborns, after they've been home for awhile, will often settle into a regular pooping pattern. Even with formula fed babies, they may not poop every day; breast fed babies may get to a point where they may only poop every 4-7 days! If your baby isn't uncomfortable, this may be normal. If he/she is trying to go and can't, time to see the Dr.

Breast or bottle ?: Breast fed babies can have a little smear with each feed or have one big blowout every 7-10 days.Bottle fed kids will poo more predictably & should go daily. If the poo is soft it is not considered constipation. I don't get hung up on babies timing, I like to look at them to see how they feel.
