Not blighted ovum: A blighted ovum is when there is a gestational sac but no fetus at all. Since your sonogram shows a fetal pole it is not a blighted ovum. You will need to keep your follow up sonogram appointment which should be made for next week to see if the heartbeat is seen. An early miscarriage is still a possibility so follow up is needed.
