May be too early: The earliest you could expect to see a fetal pole on vaginal ultrasound is 6 weeks, but it might not be seen until 9 weeks gestation. If everything else is ok, relax and try not to worry for 3 weeks, then consider getting checked again. Good luck!

Yes: It certainly could be either situation. As difficult as waiting is, you need to wait about a week and repeat the sonogram. There is a wide variation in timing of ovulation, so maybe the embryo is just smaller than expected. In a week, with a normal pregnancy, an embryo should definitely be easily visible. For good or bad, there is nothing you can do to change the outcome. Good luck to you.

Early pregnancy: Either of your choices could be the answer to this question. A fetal heart can be noted at approx 6 weeks. If not noted at that time a follow up scan in 7-10 days is recommended to make a definative diagnosis. Being seen before 7 weeks leads to a lot of anxiety with early scans as a few days can make a tremendous difference in what is seen.

Depends: If your dates are correct based on ultrasound measurements, then it is likely an anembryonic pregnancy (blighted ovum). The latest an embryo could be theoretically seen would be 7 weeks, but it really should be seen earlier than this. A follow-up scan should be performed in approximately 7 days.

Depends: Could be several things, two of which you've mentioned. The big thing, however that needs to be excluded or at least watched out for is ectopic pregnancy. Did your doctor place you on "ectopic precautions?".
