No: Extraction of a tooth and multiple teeth is commonly performed with local anesthesia (injections in the mouth) alone. Whether or not you will require or need sedation may depend on your personal preferences, as well as any underlying medical conditions which may make having the extractions performed with sedation a safer procedure. You should discuss this with the dentist and/or surgeon.

Comfort zone: The appropriate anesthesia depends on the complexity of the dental treatment and your own comfort zone. With the profound local anesthesia and IV sedation you will have no recall of the events of the oral surgery or experience any pain. Good luck.
