Stool color: stool color can vary for many reasons, including particular foods eaten, disease states, and medications. A change in stool color in the course of one stool is not unusual, and the only thing that concerns me somewhat about your description is that some of the stool was maroon in color. You should be sure that that is not from blood. if you're not sure, see your doctor to check. Good luck.
