Your doc...: To start with, Marinol can be effective like mmj for nausea and to stimulate appetite, but it usually doesn't help that much with nerve pain. I would stick with mmj if it helps you. If you really want to try marinol, go to the doc who wrote that mmj would help you when you obtained your mmj card. Any md can write for marinol.

PCP or pain clinic: Medical oncologists usually prescribe Marinol for cancer patients for 2 indications: controlling nausea/vomiting and appetite stimulation. Marinol is not usually prescribed for pain. I am not familiar with any rules that would prevent your physician from prescribing Marinol if there is an indication. You may want to seek consult from a pain clinic to manage ur pain.
