A member asked:

What is happening during the first 6 days of the menstrual cycle?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

On Period: Technically, the menstrual cycle starts on the first day of the period. Most women are menstruating during part or all of the first 6 days of the menstrual cycle. Menstruation is the shedding of the uterine lining. After menstruation, the uterus must re-generate the uterine lining in preparation for ovulation around day 14. Best wishes!
