Is walking on the sand at the beach good for your skin?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Can't recommend it.: Some people say that walking in sand "exfoliates" the skin and leaves the skin softer. A foot doctor will tell you that walking barefoot in the sand has more risks than benefits - there may be sharp objects that can cause infection and pain, and the sand may be hot and cause a burn. Please wear shoes or sandals when walking on the beach.
