A member asked:

What does it mean when the spleen becomes the same consistency as peanut butter?

Why do you ask?: I enjoy medical fiction as much as anyone else. There are a variety of curious food comparisons involving food, including three famous ones for the spleen. Tomato paste suggests sepsis. Tapioca / saco is amyloid in the white pulp. Lard(aceous) is amyloid in the red pulp. I know pathology quite well and nothing will make a peanut butter spleen -- this is the name of a rock band.
