Why u need dentures: If the reason you need dentures is to restore missing teeth lost to cancer or other systemic condition, it may be covered through your insurance.

Your general health: It sounds like your insurance company wants to know if you are basically healthy, or if you have any diseases, illnesses, malnutrition, etc. Before they approve your dentures. This is a very odd request from an insurance company if i'm reading your question correctly.

A medical reason: Dentures help you chew better and therefore aid in proper digestion and better nutrition: therefore they can benefit you if you have any medical conditions related to the above.

Routine physical: Unusual question for that. In 34 years of practice, never heard of that one. I suppose they want to know if you have any systemic problems such as diabetes, osteoporosis, immune system deficiencies, etc. Why I do not know. I would ask your Dentist about this, as I do not see that it should be of any relevance to their denture coverage. May be a stalling tactic. Ask. Good Luck.

Need more specifics.: Need more specifics. Is this your dental or medical insurance? Was an accident involved? Dental insurance relies on radiographs for denture approval and most insurances cover replacements on a five or seven year basis.
