No : Increased blood pressure will not increase risk of dvt. However length of plane ride and duration of immobility will.

No.: Dvt typically occurs when an individual is inactive, such as taking a long plane flight. Hypertension alone does not cause dvt. However, hypertension is also associated with inactivity, and many of these patients place themselves at risk of DVT with a decreased activity level. The easy preventative solution - get up from your seat every 30 minutes and take a short walk.
