A member asked:

Does it help to sleep 1-3 hours in two days, or does that count as if you haven't been sleeping at all?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Body needs sleep: So the better question is why. The adult human body needs between 6-8 hours of sleep to feel rested and restored. So less than three hours is not nothing but definitely not enough. What suffers is cognitive function (aka thinking ability) and body function. You will have difficulty learning and functioning. Most times you can not do it for long and your body just sleeps without intending to.
