A member asked:

After i chew this certain gum, it feels like my stomach all the way to my throat burns. could i be allergic to something in the gum?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Perhaps you allergic: Hi Jesse I would say if this occurs only when chewing a certain type of gum. Then you might be allergic to something in the gum. But you should be concerned if you feel that your throat is swelling up and it is difficult to breath/swallow. If you do have difficulty swallowing or breathing after chewing this gum or any other food, you should contact emergency services (ambulance) and go to the ER
