Call the doctor: My guess is a vaginal, cervical, or pelvic infection (trichomonas, yeast, chlamydia, gonorrhea, non-STD cervicitis, etc) and the exam or specimen collection stirred things up, causing additional inflammation that brought this to light or made minor symptoms (previously missed) more obvious. More testing may be needed. Let the doc or clinic know what's going on; they'll want to see you again.
