Of all the cases of men with hpv or hpv16, how many of those cases develop oral cancer?

HPV 16: White, non-smoking males age 35 to 55 are 4 to 1 over females to develop oral/oropharyngeal cancer due primarily to HPV 16 infection. Cannot find overall risk frequency for males with HPV 16 to develop cancer. It takes about 15 years after being infected to develop such cancers.

Summary: The leading cause of oropharyngeal cancer is from HPV, a very small number of oral cavity cancers also occur from HPV. Any suspicious lesion should be evaluated by oral surgeon or ENT doc. For more information: http://oralcancerfoundation.org/understanding/hpv/
