Are your counting pulse rate or actual heart rate; big distinction. On its own, healthy heart rate ~110 BPM, actual rate constantly modulated, split-second, by brain autonomic control; parasympathetic (slow)/sympathetic (faster) to heart muscle. People/Docs only observe result.

Heart rate: have heart monitor placed to see what kind of rhythm you have. You can have PVC's or atrial fibrillation with irregular heart rate.
