A member asked:

6mo w/conjunctiv.dr indicated that it could be a reaction to her hib shot and prescribed amoxicillin and drops. likely? when will stop being contagi

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Conjunctivitis: Conjunctivitis is either viral or bacterial. Both are contagious so washing hands frequently is a good idea. Bacterial eye infection clears rapidly with just a few doses. When the eye is no longer draining then the contagious period is over. This is an unusual reaction to HIB. It probably is a coincidence.
