Yes: Lymph nodes are normally located in the arm pits and groin. Tenderness of the lymph nodes is a sign of inflammation, e.g. with an infection in that region.

5 days ago I noticed my left armpit was swollen evenly across the entire armpit which has not subsided. No obvious lumps or lymph node swelling. There is mild pain but nothing major. Is this most likely muscular or something for concern?
I have swelling and pain in my armpit, neck, and collarbone on the left side. Ultrasound showed a mass in my neck but a follow-up CT scan showed nothing. Ultrasound also showed none of my lymph nodes are swollen. What else could the swelling be?
