I haven't been taking my bc pill at the same time everyday, can that cause break through bleeding ?

Yes: Taking birth control pills at the same time every day is important to maintain effective contraception and to decrease chances of breakthrough bleeding.

Maybe: Some lower strengths of bcp's are more finicky and may cause some spotting if not taken at the same time. This is less of an issue with higher dose ones. Also, effects can modified by other meds and supplements you may take.
