When will break through bleeding stop on new bcp? ive been taking pills on time everyday. day 17 of break through bleeding, day 5 of placebo pills. it doesnt appear like its going to stop as of now?

In some individuals the low dose oral contraceptives have insufficient hormones over 24 hours to sustain the endometrium, leading to breakthrough bleeding. With sexual activity, cervical inflammation can also cause bleeding. Increased strength of oral bcp's, and/or cautery of cervical inflammation may stop the bleeding.
