6 hours: Outside the hospital, for a missed abortion not greater than 8 weeks of pregnancy 600 micrograms of cytotec (misoprostol) swallowed by mouth should accomplish products of conception to pass within 3 - 6 hrs. If that fails a repeat dose may be considered.
