Rum cake: Most of the alcohol in cakes like this evaporates while baking the cake. However, it is not all eliminated. That being said, I am of the zero tolerance alcohol group during pregnancy, so my answer would be "no" to pregnant women. You can do without rum cake for 9 months while protecting your child from a lifetime of effects of alcohol during pregnancy. Celebrate the birth with a piece of cake!
