Aleve (naproxen) & chiropractor: First try Aleve (naproxen) (similar to ibuprofen). If neck pain doesn't resolve after a couple of days, find an inexpensive chiropractor for around $20-$45 and go one or two times. Because there was no known injury, there is no need for an expensive xray at this early stage.
