Yes : Early ambulation, walking after an abdominal surgical procedure is likley to provide more benefits that harm. Unless recommended otherwise by the surgeon, should be okay. The back pain may be due to positiong during the surgery, or viscerosomatic (pain referred to the back from the internal organs). Should start improving in a few days.
