Red flag: It's time to raise the flag and get help! This is unusual and that means it needs to be evaluated. My first thought is that your infant may have something lodged in her esophagus and can't swallow the saliva. It can also be due to an infection like whooping cough. These are the major worries that need evaluation. Hopefully it is something simple. See your doctor or the ER to find out!
