A member asked:

I consistently get my period twice a month. i'm on birth control and haven't had sex. why does this happen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not 2 periods: If you are taking birth control pills as directed you should not have period until the days you take the placebo (other color) pills at the end of the month. The other bleeding mid cycle is likely spotting - can be due to missed pills, taking pills late, sometimes lower dose of hormone in pills and need another birth control pill, or some other problem. Talk to your prescribing doctor about this
