Can you have a allergic reaction to crab 4 hours after eating it ? and would a late reaction be life threatening?

Unusual: Allergic reactions to food , except for red meat, usually occurs within 2 hours after ingestion. However I would urge you to see an allergist to get tested before you touch crab again. Usually the earlier the onset , the more severe the reaction. But delayed anaphylaxis (2-8 hrs later) can also be life-threatening.
