A member asked:

I am allergic to seafood but i can eat tunafish and breaded shrimp can i eat lobster and crab without having an allergic reaction?

Difficult to answer: Seafood includes shellfish and fish. Shellfish includes mollusks and crustaceans. You describe being able to eat a sea dwelling fish (tuna) and a crustacean (shrimp). Therefore you are not allergic to seafood. Lobsters and crabs are crustaceans and share the same allergy inducing protein tropomyosin. It does not appear you are allergic to that or you would have had trouble with shrimp.
