Tension related: With tension, people tend to have tight muscles that can cause muscular related pain. The neck is a common location for stress related muscle fatigue and pain.

Muscle Spasm: Your fear has overcome your senses. You most likely have a muscle spasm from your tenseness. Take an Aspirin as an anti-inflammatory and take a hot shower (do not burn yourself) to heat up the muscles. While in the shower work your muscles to get them out of spasm.
