My ears hurt a lot and i have severe throat pain. it's not strep throat or mono. what do i have?

Poss. Viral: Referred pain to ears can occur from the throat. Ear infections have to be ruled out. Many viruses can give such symptoms. Do have it seen again if worse.

Viral infection: If you have been tested for strep throat and mono and been told you don't have them, you most likely have a sorethroat caused by the common cold virus. It could less commonly be caused by the influenza virus. This will run its course and you do not need antibiotics for a viral infection. Try Tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen for pain and fever. Stay hydrated.
