Error or masking: Two possibilities come to mind. One is you're not really B12 deficient. The lab erred or doc erred in interpretation. The other possibility is that you are B12 def., but take folic acid supplement. Folic acid will correct the anemia of B12 deficiency but—AND THIS IS IMPORTANT—not prevent ongoing neurological damage due to B12 deficiency. Discuss with your doc or get 2nd opinion from hematologist.
