I experience 4-7 random 'squeaks' throughout my day. they feel like a hiccup, but are not painful. what causes this?

Not sure: what you mean by "squeaks" but there are small mucous plugs in the lungs on occasion which partially block the bronchial tubes and cause a "squeak". If this is what it is a couple of deep breaths followed by a cough should get rid of them Hope this helps! Dr Z
