When having a pap done when should you stop having sex with your spouse in order to get an accurate reading?

Never: You don't need to do anything special to prepare for a pap test. Some women have heard that they should not have sex or put anything in their vagina for 2 days before a pap test, but those recommendations are not necessary. Pap tests work fine even in women who have had sex recently or who have used vaginal lubricants or creams.

Don't worry: Sex does not effect modern paps. If you use lubricants, that can theoretically effect it. Certainly, 24 hours is more than enough.
