Weight: Weight normals don't have a lot of scientifc correlation. If you like the way you look and are eating a mediterranean diet and getting regular exercise at least half an hour a day, a few pounds over a 'normal' number won't be a big deal. On the other hand you should be close to the normal weight and i wouldn't let it go up from where you are.

Yes: Generally so, but weight loss will always help. Depends upon what your standard is for figuring you're 10# overweight. If you're on thyroid replacement make sure it's brand name, not generic, and that your levels are normal.

Healthy vs risk...: Unfortunately being over weight is actually more common than normal wt these days. As long as you are active, eat a healthy/balanced diet, exercise regularly, don't smoke, and don't drink to excess, you are better off overweight than normal wt and don't do the above. Also, if you have big frame, 10lbs may not make u overweight. Stay healthy. It is a lifelong commitment, but so worth it. Good luck.
