Best treatment is:: Diet exercise and weight loss are by far the best long tem strategy for controlling blood glucose. In the short term medications work wonders but they are really a bridge to get you to lifestyle change. If your lifestyle is already as good as it is going to get then medications may have to be the long term solution as well.

Nothing: Your body has mechanisms that are designed to keep your blood sugar stable for many days, even without eating. That's why people who are fasting don't develop hypoglycemia. If you're overweight, the problem is your weight and Insulin resistance leading to excessive Insulin secretion. This is a problem with elevated glucose, not low glucose.
