Sounds like reflux: It sounds like you have esophageal reflux that can be brought on by spicy foods. Smoking, alcohol, spicy foods, overeating, acidic foods, drinking lots of liquid with a meal, lying down too soon after eating can predispose you to this. Try ranitidine - it is fast and effective to use as needed or for regular use. If that doesn't help you may want to check with your docto.
