As long as you want: You can use Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) as long as you want for effective birth control, but you are reaching menopausal age soon, so ask your gynecologist how long you need birth control.It contains Progesterone only so the risks associated with estrogen containing birth control pills are not there with Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) and it is effective as contraceptive.
