Might not: Sebaceous cysts typically have to be removed surgically. Swollen nodes can often be painful simply because of the swelling.

Consider surgery: Sebaceous cysts are normal glands that have lost the ability to empty. When infected they are lanced, when clean, they are best carefully and completely excised. Swollen lymph nodes may or may not be painful. Persistently swollen lymph nodes should be evaluated by your doctor.
