Variable issue: Some illnesses like whooping cough do not confer lifelong immunity after disease, so no vaccine would ever do better than what happens in nature.Vaccines work by tricking the immune system using components of the germ not the disease & these components do not trigger an identical immune memory as an illness. In some cases we have dropped disease frequency to zero, some not. It happens.
