Varies: Herpes of the genital area can just be a reddened area but classically is a small group of clear blisters. This area is paiful, tingles and can get crusty. It is like a fever blister (only it is not a fever blister). Usually clinically diagosed but can absolutely be diagnosed if cultured and positive. Practice safe sex or you will continue to get the gift that keeps on giving!

Crusty blister: Used to be called "cold sores"-can be oral or genital or anal; caused by 2 strains of the same virus. Starts with tingling, gets red, then blistery, crusts over/scabby. Can recur.Brought out by stress, fever, etc. Contagious, viral; spread even if no outright lesion present. Be careful swapping spit, using someone else's fork, or having sex (oral, genital, anal) meds to treat, suppress. Condoms.
