Complex Joint: The shoulder is a complex joint, & many conditions/ injuries (rotator cuff injury, bursitits, tendonitis, labral pathology, etc) can cause pain as described. It is also possible for a neck issue to cause shoulder pain... I suggest a physician examine your shoulder to determine your best plan of care, but in the meanwhile start with rest and ice. http://drmarkgalland.com/category/shoulder/.
