Side effect: Irregular bleeding is an almost universal side effect of implanon. There is no normal time for your period on this birth control method. Most have infrequent periods but some bleed more. This can be annoying but it does not mean it is not working. Waiting to see if resolves is reasonable. If not try another method of contraception.
