ADHD- braind isorder: Adhd is attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. It is a brain disorder. Some symptoms of inattention or hyperactivity-impulsivity begin by age 6, though full-fledged symptoms may not be clear till later. Symptoms may get better but persist in adulthood. There is no test to diagnose it - if there are enough symptoms that affect function, the diagnosis is made. It is best treated with medicines.

There ARE tests 4 it: Addis a neurobiological disorder, there are physical & neurodevelopmental findings. Synkinesiae, dysmetric eye movements, incoordination are easily found on exam. Tests of working memory r easily administered. Tower of london demonstrates statistically relavent findings diagnostic of add. So questionnaires are necessary, but of minimal use in the diagnosis. Therapeutic targets are state of the art.
