Pretty common: This is called a subchorionic bleed and it's typically related to bleeding from the placenta. It typically resolves without incident, however, large bleeds can result in miscarriage. Either way, bed rest really doesn't do anything to help the situation. It's best to try to live your life as a normal pregnant women would.
