Infection: A yeast infection in the mouth can give this symptom. Look in the mirror and note if there is a whitish coating on tongue, which would correlate with a yeast infection. The doctor can prescribe drops to kill the yeast if this is the problem.

Unhappy mouth?: How happy is your mouth (teeth, gums, tongue)? Brushing (even your tongue!) and flossing regularly can help. What's dripping from upstairs? Nasal drip from allergies or chronic sinus infection can taste icky. Anything from downstairs? Acid reflux from your stomach? These are all good things to talk with your doc about. Good luck.

Dehydration?Meds?: Drugs that dehydrate can cause this, not drinking enough h2o can, and medications which cause dry mouth (and their are many), all encourage the growth of bacteria in your mouth which can makes things "not right." also, many patients on antibiotics have a metallic or earthy feel in the mouth, and things taste bad. However, this should last until you finish the course. A zinc defiency does this.

Chemicals: In this day and age we are exposed to many chemicals in our food. Tooth paste change.Taste. Your stomach can cause it. Some foods can cause it. Dental disease can cause it. A tooth that needs filling can cause it. Try flossing and brushing your teeth with a soda based toothpaste and eat simply, no spicy known breath changing foods for a few days. Next is your dentist for exam. He may refer.

Thats relative: That would be subjective if we are talking about food. Medically, it would be a taste that you personally felt was not normal, or one that was anoying, or of sudden onset and persistant despite the absense of food or drink.
