DM and Boilds : Boils in the groin area are not a classical sign for diabetes. Excessive thirst, excessive hunger, frequent urination are. I've seen patients present with skin or other types of infections which led to diagnosis of diabetes. Diabetics are more prone to getting infections. But an infected boil is not a sign of diabetes in and by itself.

No.: Boils in the groin area are not associated with diabetes. "boils" are deep skin infections usually caused by staphylococcus bacteria. Most common areas for recurrent boils are the groin and underarms. Decreasing staph colonization may help to have fewer outbreaks - ask your doctor about intranasal bactroban (mupirocin). Also bathing the genital/groin area with hibiclens weekly may be useful.
