Fiber Diet: The blood in the stools could be due to 'hemorroids/piles' due to your chronic constipation, because you constantly strain at the stools. Eat lot of fiber (fruits), if that doesn't help, evaluation by your physician is needed. Chronic laxative use is not good for the bowels as they get trained.
