Not usually: Nasal flaring is usually associated with other respiratory symptoms such as wheezing, bronchitis, airway obstruction, pneumonia etc. However nasal congestion can cause nasal flaring. Usually saline drops and suction of mucus helps. If infant continues nasal flaring i would consult your pediatrician, .

Mgt: Nasal flaring is a symptom of associated respiratory problems. It would be helpful to see a short video of the problem, which you can show to your PCP. Observe your baby's breathing pattern while asleep and report any problems.
