What kind of stone?: There are several different kinds of kidney stones and different treatments for each. However, tea appears to be ok (http://www.Healthnewsreview.Org/2012/08/iced-tea-kidney-stones-and-the-study-that-never-existed/). Check out http://www.Mayoclinic.Com/health/kidney-stones/ds00282 for more info re kidney stones.

Depends on…: Composition of your kidney stones; calcium oxalate is most common type, but there are cysteine, uric acid, struvite stones. Basically, keeping urine dilute with adequate fluid intake helps prevent formation of stones. Other dietary measures depend on stones' composition. Oxylate stone, e.g., can be prevented by potassium/magnesium citrate (as well as adequate fluids). Ask nephrologist 4 more info.

Be careful: almonds have oxalate; tea has oxalate; Calcium oxalate is most common stone; reasons include: dehydration; excess calcium in urine; excess oxalate in urine; low citrate in urine. Diet: avoid spinach, rhubarb, strawberries, nuts, chocolate, tea, wheat bran, and all dry beans; increase orange juice 8 oz twice daily; add ReaLemon extract: 5 tblspns per day; increase fluid 4 liters/day; so, minimize
