Finding balance: When your gut's grumpy, it's sending you a message that something's out of balance & needs help. Diet: any food triggers (caffeine, alcohol, fake sugars, wheat, gluten, dairy)? Fiber "the whites" vs whole grains, nuts&beans? Exercise: moving 30-60 minutes every day? Good rest? Stress? Balancing work/play? These all trigger ibs. Anti-spasm: rx, peppermint oil capsules. Good luck.

Try antispasmotics: I have had a lot of success treating patients who suffer from irritable bowel syndrome with the medication Bentyl or dicyclomine. I usually prescribe between 10 and 20 mgs three or four times per day. This of course requires a prescription. Good luck to you.
